How would you differentiate between these two schools and where would you chose?
Thanks
My D fell in love with LMU after attending and chose not to even visit Pepperdine after that. I’ve read that Pepperdine has a much stronger Christian culture (the Jesuit culture is present at LMU, but is very low key and more on service and philosophy than outright Christianity).
I think my son would do better at LMU but I just want to get some feedback from other people and students thank you so much
Sorry, I meant to post more. So, have you visited both? As I mentioned we didn’t visit Pepperdine but we’ve seen it, and both campuses are absolutely beautiful, although P may have a slight edge in terms of ocean view. Pepperdine is about half the size in enrollment, if that matters. I personally love the “medium size” of LMU at around 6000, it’s big enough that you don’t feel like you’re in a teeny town where everyone knows everything, but small enough to be manageable and bump into people you know on a regular basis! We couldn’t be happier with LMU, really. I always get a warm feeling (I’ve visited several times) from the students, staff, professors, it really seems like a special place. She’s a sophomore and has had excellent experiences with advisors (she contemplated changing her major this year) and professors and has made wonderful friends.
