social life: UCSB leans toward the party side of the spectrum. LMU is more casual/relaxed (personally: stuck in between...like peace /quiet a lot, but parties are nice too at times...i guess i kinda sway towards LMU)

academics: Depends by major (Personally: UCSB... chemical engineering)

Job Availibility after graduation: LMU most probably because of the fact that it is in L.A. (more industrial/city like) whereas SB is more of a tourism kinda place...with no big companies...meaning less "connections" (Personally: LMU)

Housing: pretty darn even. as stated earlier LMU is more peaceful, and there are less smokers (i dont like smoke)...but u could always get wellness housing...either way pretty much the same. (Personally: Stuck)

overall: I'd probably go to UCSB, cuz my parents couldnt afford LMU, but if they could maybe (probably) LMU, a better chance of aspiring because of small classes, peaceful environment, and because of all the oppurtunities of being in LA. UCSB is also a good school though.

thank you. do you go to UCSB? that was helpful.

no i dont im a senior in high school, but i have friends at both schools and have been to each atleast 6 times this school year....do u have some sort of idea as to which you want to go to?? if you have any questions feel free to ask...and ill answer to the best of my knowledge and i fi dont know ill call up one of my friends =)

Don't quote me on this, but UCSB's academics is ranked higher than LMU if I recall correctly. I think I compared the average SAT scores of students. That was the defining factor for me.

Both schools were options available to me when I was deciding my college.
Both campuses are beautiful. Other than LMU being a private school and UCSB a public school (tuition differences), I liked the feel of UCSB and the offer of an honors program.

^^ well actually it depends by major some majors LMU is ranked higher...overall SB is ranked higher...but like i said it all comes down to your major

How Bout For Biopsych?

^^ for biopsych u might wanna check out these schools

USNews.com: America's Best Colleges 2008: Majors: Biopsychology

but out of LMU and UCSB id say that UCSB would be better than LMU if you plan on doing undergrad only....but for LEARNING, and for goin to grad school afterwards for biopsych go LMU becuz ur classes will only have like 10-30 people in them and the teacher gets to know u on a personal basis so when you apply for grad school your gonna have MUCH MUXH better letters of rec....
