Just got some awesome news... I got a letter of assurance for class of 2012!! Still waiting to here from Air Force but this is definitely awesome!!!

Wow you are correct it is definitely awesome to have that already!!

Congratulations and best wishes for your future and thank you for your service to our country.

Pilot2B, many congrats!

Good luck with the decisions!!

hey pilot...big time congrats...remember this at usmma you have many options upon graduation. My son wants to be a Navy Pilot, but may change his mind after have this first time at sea...keep all your options open and best to you.

Awesome news! from a fellow PA'er, I'm in Lancaster County!

Congratulations!

USMMA offers so many options after graduation, and the education is second to none. You would be wise to give it serious consideration before you choose to go elsewhere (IF you do. ;) )

BTW - I'm curious as to how far into the application process you were before the LOA was issued.

Finished? CFA? Parts I/II/III? Letters of Recommendation?

Did you have an admissions interview and/or visit Kings Point?

Are you only waiting for a MOC nomination?

I finished the entire application about 2 weeks ago, but it was still a big suprise. I have unofficially visited but am just waiting for a MOC nomination.

I love the options and opportunities that both AFA and MMA offer, so if a letter comes from Colorado, that could be tough.

Thanks everyone!!

I don't know much about Air Force (my plebe didn't apply). I know KP is closer to your home--and that is important to some plebes--(easier to get home on breaks, or to have family visit.)

Good Luck--You Rock!!!

I have two LtCols working for me who went to the Zoo and after hearing about KP from LFWB and one of them going up there, both said if they had known about KP when they applied to the Zoo they would have gone to KP.

But maybe they are just sucking up to their boss.

LOL....Glad to see you again LFWB!!

AFA is very near to God's Country....but other than that, KP wins :)

LOL JRH...I beg to differ with you....AFA is not close to Virginia, which is really "Gods Country!" I seem to have this same discussion with your Mid as well....:D

You all are sadly disillusioned. God's country, known as heaven, is right here in West Virginia. You're close, Suzannegra, but...:)

MountaineerMom

A well known minister was travelling the country. He made stops in several places. In Virginia, he went to a local church where he noticed a sign next to a telephone. The sign read - "call to Heaven $15,000 per minute." In West Virginia, at another church, he found a similar sign that said "call Heaven - $20,000 per minute". He noticed similar signs at churches all over the country.

Finally, he stopped in Denver and saw a table with a phone on it with a sign. "Call Heaven - Free". Inquiring as to why all of the other places charged so much and why it was free from his church, the Denver pastor explained, "that's easy, from here it's a local call"
:)

HA HA HA!!! Good one JH! :D

You all might think you live in God's country, but I know he vacations in the Pacific North West. :)

I live near DC and everyone knows that God lives there--only his name is George!!!

My son received his LOA today.

Luigi59,

Congratulations!!!

:) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)

Luigi, many many many congrats. Turn off all ceiling fan blades in the house for safety reasons. Trust me on that one. Tell that boy to come & get some gills & be a merchant mariner. :D
