I live in eastern Washington state. do you think given the location this will be a factor getting into fordham? also i go to a jesuit high school and think this is why i got one of those "your choice" apps

Connor: I think you mean "geographic" diversity.

Location refers to the location of Fordham's campuses in Lincoln Center, Bronx-Rose Hill and the new Westchester graduate school campus.

Yes, going to a Jesuit school helps. Whether that is Seattle Prep or Gonzaga Prep.

Fordham is an AWESOME school. Its distinct and unique from BC, Holy Cross, Georgetown, Xavier and the Loyola Colleges....among the 28 others (Gonzaga and Seattle Univ. included).

Its edgy enough because its NYC (either location) and also provides incredible opportunities. Its got a strong Jesuit presence and influence. Its reaching out for MORE geographic diversity. Its on the move and its moving UP. Great Div. 1-A sports. Wonderful programs in business, liberal arts, math and sciences. A great group of kids. Bronx is a classic (Gothic architecture) campus with great dorms and lots to do. Superb and SAFE train service into the city-Grand Central Station by Metro North train for 4.00 and runs until 120am. Lincoln Center is like a mini version of NYU. Walk to Central Park!

You gotta want to go to college in New York. You would be a long ways from home. But I STRONGLY encourage kids from the West to come east and explore what is going on. Fr. McShane, Fordham's President, is a gem....a real dynamo. And he is getting results! Some pretty smart cookies running around the student body at Fordham. Its an academic school...not a party school. Those who party hardy usually flunk out by midterms. FACT. Happens every year. So come prepared to WORK HARD, write a LOT of papers and have a great time! Its like two educations for the price of one, hence Fordham's motto: "New York is my campus; Fordham is my school!"

Good luck.
