I was in Winston for CTOPS, and the bed there was "lofted." (I'll be in Connor, and the rooms are the same.) In dorm rooms at other colleges, I've seen students put their desks under lofted beds to make space in the room for a chair, etc., but the lofted bed in Winston was still pretty low -- not enough room for a desk or a chair. Are all the "lofts" that low? Do people at UNC just use the space for junk storage, etc.? Any chance of persuading housing to have REAL lofts in order to have a desk space under there?

There is plently of space to accomodate your desk and chair underneath your bed, especially in Cobb.

at CTOPS the lofted beds are actually just elevated--you'll get an attachment that will allow to you raise it a lot higher.

Yea you can adjust your beds to be as high as 6 feet tall if you really want. The lofts are done well, you'll have no problems :)
