I am going to be in AP lIt next year and was wondering if I should read Lolita or Lord of the Flies for my summer homework for that class. I took America Literature not AP Lang last year. Which one is more interesting?
Lord of the Flies has more action, IMO. Lolita seemed like it could have been over about halfway through without losing anything important.
Read both.

Haven’t read Lolita, but I had to read Lord of the Flies for my Honors English class as a freshman. It’s definitely a book that’s unique in it’s own way. Once you finish reading it and think between the lines of the story, the overall metaphors and symbolism are really interesting and it really delves deep into human morality and society as a whole. Id definitely read it again, and I recommend it to all my underclassman friends who are looking for good books to read.
