<p>Well, I read the passages fairly closely, understand the main points/arguments/whatever, then attempt to answer the questions. I refer back to the passage as necessary.</p>

<p>what I do now and I've found very helpful is to find the line reference questions and underline the word(s) before reading the passage so you know when you've reached a question you have to answer...then when you get to it you can answer it right away,</p>
