How annoyed do you think the admissions officers will get if my supposed-to-be-approx-500-words-essay is about 650 words? And another of my 250-word essay is about 300? I really don't know if I can't condense it any more. That would take away the whole life from it.

If you have something to say, then say it. I had relatively low statistics when I got admitted and, so far, I’ve been admitted into LSA and LSA honors and have gotten a small scholarship with the following word count for my essays:

First Short Answer: 291 words
Second Short Answer: 302 words
Extended Essay: 599 words
Supplemental Essay: 1006 words

Obviously, the admissions officers had to read a bit more for my application, but, in the end, it worked because I had something interesting to say. So, if you can’t condense your essays any more than you have, then leave them as is!

thanks for ur reply! I also have relatively low statistics and I’m really counting on my essays to make the impressions for me.
