help my essays are too long but will it hurt me?

So I just submitted my essays to the university of michigan. They have two, 500 word essays and my essays came in at 924 words and 1048 words. However, the essays look only 1.5 pages. I think it is because I used short words, etc. Will this be enough reason to reject?

I submitted them early and U of m is on a rolling admission.

so what u peeps think

I think that they will know the difference between a 500 word essay and one that is twice as long. But I don't think that means you'll necessarilly be rejected... you have good stats.

Given your quite commendable academic achievements, one has to wonder why you are incapable of writing a comparable quality essay in 500 words
