My top eight schools I'm interested are

Georgetown
Northwestern
WUSTL
Penn
Cornell
Emory
NYU
Michigan

Assume my SAT score is at least 2300+ by the time I apply (don't worry... I'll get there ;) ).

Without considering anything else (ECs, recs, essays, etc.), what does this first impression have on you for these schools? I'll post ECs later if needed.

Bump

Hopefully my title didn’t imply that my list wasn’t solely based on prestige of the school :P

You grades looked like they improved Junior Year, and colleges like seeing an upward trend. You should try to apply to all of these schools, you never know if you might get in or not. I think you have a good chance at Michigan if you’re in-state, and also a good chance at Northwestern, NYU, and Emory. Penn and Cornell will be reaches though.

bump again

70+ views, one response?

The other 69 were probably yours.

But umm… if you have good EC’s, I don’t see why not.

all those schools seem fine. I can’t comment though because I don’t know how difficult your HS is.

For example, if those grades are at:

1) a very competitive, test-to-get-in school, then yes, they’re all possibilities
2) an above average suburban HS, then those schools might be reachy
3) a below average HS, then those schools are true reaches

I don’t know what your grades mean in context to the applicant pool to those schools without knowing the difficulty of your HS.

All of those schools would be reasonable ones to apply to. However, it is also important to pick some safety and low match schools.

Disconsidering ECs as you have requested, with those (assumed) scores, you have a very nice chance at being accepted into all of your listed schools.
