looking for “hippy” collages with agriculture focus

I’m looking for collages with a large “hippy” type population. I was looking at Evergreen in wa. But was looking some others that are somewhat similar. I’d like to major in sustainable agriculture or soil sciences or other related fields (etc. not set in stone by all means).
I tend to hand with the “heads” if you catch my drift, so a laid back atmosphere is preferred…

thanks

peace out

Warren Wilson College in Asheville, NC

check out the University of Colorado

Dude, like, Oregon State, Humboldt State, New Mexico State. Not a lot of colleges have “agriculture” per se…they’d all have botany via the bio dept, but if you’re lookin’ for straight-up agriculture schools, they usually have the word “state” in their name.

Best thread we’ve had in a long time. This guy’s gonna make a lot of green someday.

Kansas State was the first land-grant university in the country - you have to look into their programs, outstanding in this area.

I believe there are also good programs at OSU in Oklahoma.

Definitely look at hampshire

College of the Atlantic.

If you’re in California, UC Davis.

Possibly Anitoch?

Colorado State University in Fort Collins – hippies galore and a good college of agriculture. I’m betting it’s a perfect fit. If you want a school with a relaxed atmosphere and some of the best agriculture programs in the country (but very few hippies), I would also strongly recommend Kansas State University – after Cornell CALS, probably the second best college of agriculture in the U.S.

Cornell CALS son. Unequivocally the finest school of agriculture and life sciences on this planet.

^Agreed, but low hippy quotient. I wouldn’t characterize Cornell or CALS as laid back.

^ True, we don’t have many hippies.

Warren Wilson College in Asheville, NC = Great School…

PS: Anitoch College no longer exists, sorry

You might want to look at this thread

I want to add SUNY New Paltz to the list. It’s got a hippy town walking distance to the school and is about 25 minutes from Woodstock.

Although Cornell does not have many hippies, it is a very liberal school where tree huggers are more than welcome. I second Cornell and UC-Davis. I would add Wisconsin-Madison to the list.

^Actually, I think that you could add most land grant universities to the list. Some other good “ag schools” that I can think of would include Texas A&M, Iowa State, the University of Illinois-Urbana/Champaign and the University of Minnesota. There are lots of others.

penn state main, hands down.

Oh wait! I complete forgot about the commons. Yes we actually do have a sizable hippy population. Five minutes in downtown Ithaca and you will see enough hippies, bums, and derelicts to make you a raging conservative.
