I have been searching for colleges for a while now and I always see similar descriptions of the social scenes at various schools described as "diverse" and "anyone can fit in!". I feel like this ambiguous advice fails to give a true idea of any school's social environment.

I have seen before my very eyes a super preppy, typical Southern California WASP girl who's wardrobe never strays from Abercrombie & Fitch be recommended to check out a school with an alternative social scene such as Hampshire. I mean really, come on, there has got to be some issues with that.

So where would you go if you were a preppy kid? A small LAC in the East coast? At a massive research university in the West? Spill the details, there must be some predominately preppy, academically strong schools out there.
