Looking for SUNY/CUNY schools to transfer to

I am currently finishing my Associate's at Westchester Community College. My GPA isn't the best as of now (a 2.8 as of this writing) but I have finished all my required courses this past semester, taking some electives this semester to boost my GPA then I'm ready to move on.

I need to look at SUNY schools just because I don't want to lose any of my credits. I am really having a huge problem choosing a SUNY school. I am a communications major with a big interest in film and production. What schools really have the best media programs?

I applied to SUNY Purchase last year, actually got accepted but missed the deadline for my first payment and had to go back to Westchester CC, no clue if that would effect my chances with applying there again. As picky as it is to say, I don't like upstate New York [too rural, far-out and cold for me to go up there 8 months out of the year] so I want a school closer to Manhattan or at least accessible to Manhattan but that isn't a "make-or-break" deal.

I've looked at CUNY's as well but I'm not sure which are really the best for media programs and again, proximity is important too, I don't want to end up blowing all my money on train and subway tickets.

With all this criteria in mind, what definitely good SUNY schools should I look into/do I have a chance of getting easy admission into?
