Looking into IB

I seriously want to look into investment banking as a career, but right now, as I'm waiting to hear back from my regular decision schools (Princeton, Stanford, Harvard, Columbia, Cornell and Stern), I can't help but wonder what would happen if I get rejected from them all.

I got accepted to University of Michigan-Ann Arbor through Early Action, and I applied to Honors as well as Ross pre-admit. I just got rejected from Honors today, and assuming I get rejected from Ross as well, I'm wondering how well I can potentially do in terms of IB, with a normal Econ degree from UM.

So, how much differences does it make graduating from normal Econ at LSA as well as Honors Econ from LSA?

If you end up at UM just study hard, get a 3.7+, get involved, and you’ll get into Ross.

Do you think I didn’t get in because of my SAT score?

My highest in one sitting is a 1450, but my super-score is 1540. Unfortunately, UM doesn’t super-score.

I heard the range for Honors is 1490-1560. It doesn’t leave me very optimistic for Ross.

Just do well your first year and you’ll get in. Econ at Michigan does not have the same recruiting Ross has, but IB is still possible. You’ll just have to network a little harder.

IB is overrated. Don’t follow the herd if you don’t want to.
