Regardless of whether we get Pryor or not this is an amazing recruiting class, especially when you consider we lost a couple of commits after Carr left and RichRod started recruiting many players very late in the process. Terrence Robinson, Darryl Stonum, Sma McGuffie, Boobkar Cissoko (No 1 player in the state), Dan O'Neil (very similar to Jake Long), Brandon Smith, JB Fitz will all be great players for Michigan. For the first time in recent history we've stolen players who have commited to other schools, Michael Shaw from Penn State, Ricky Barnum from Florida and Roy Roundtree frm Purdue all on signing Day. We have 3 players from Trotwood Madison in Ohio and have set up a pipeline to their school in both football and basketball. We competed in Florida and have a decent dual threat qb in Justin Feagin. Agreed, he is only a 3 star but he was 3rd for Mr Football in Florida, an extremely competitive state. I think this is an amazing recruiting class with some great future stars. After a summer with Strength and Conditioning coahc Mike Barwis should be great for them and ready to come out in the fall for a great season.

Go Blue!

Great new coaches, great new players, and Mike mother F'ing Barwis. The future looks bright for UM football.

Would much rather see Russell here than Pryor...don't think Pryor has the kind of attitude necessary for this place. We hear him talking about the NFl, Russell about winning for the team. In the mean time, I really want Threet to be awesome, and I would love for him to somehow be a 3-year starter.

I guess no one wants me to resurect this thread - even on Easter.

Who was it that said:

" And the Freep fabricated the part about Pryor wanting Ohio State and his dad wanting Penn State."

You guys better take back all the bad things you said about the Freep. Come on, have a sense of humor. I believe one will be needed for the upcoming footbal season.

I am relieved Pryor went to OSU. I firmly believe this kid is trouble.

Our team will be better than most expect next season. We won't win the Big 10 or end up in one of the BCS Bows, but I think we will end our season 9-3.

So it only stands to reason that it was a major lapse in judgement for Rod to recruit him - why recruit trouble. :-)

OK Alexandre, I'll put a note to bring this thread back in November.

Pryor said that he was disappointed because he had a good relationship with Rodriguez, but he chose OSU because he felt comfortable with Tressel. I don't know guys, it's weird. It was just a bad year for recruiting for Michigan with the less than stellar season and the whole Lloyd Carr thing. It's definitely a transitional period. Michigan will return to glory soon.

SBDad, Pryor is too talented for Rodriguez to have ignored and for fans not to be curious about. Had he chosen Michigan, I admit I would be curious to see what could come from his talent. But just as likely as he is to be a Vince Young, he could turn out like Michael Vick or Maurice Clarett. That is true of any person, but Pryor exhibits more signs of trouble than most.

It'd be fine if he was Michael Vick. He had a stellar college career - woof.

Hehe! True, but I just don't want such a person associated with Michigan!

I was in a meeting with the director of admissions on Wed and his blackberry buzzed with the Pryor news (he's a big football fan, and was on the search committee for the coach). So he announced it to everyone, and most just shrugged. Partly because they already knew and had written him off.

I'm glad he chose OSU over PSU because most of what I read suggested that PSU wouldn't be a such a good place for him.

May he have a great career, graduate, make millions in the NFL. And also go easy on us every November for the next 4-5 years. LOL. And acquire better taste in cars. :)

Somehow I don't think he believes that he is going to be needing that great education.

I know, here I sit with my BA, Masters, and PhD, and once he leaves OSU he'll probably make more money for sitting down and signing autographs for 45 minutes at an event than I make in a year. Ah, well.

i dont understand how uninformed some fans are. Just so you know, we are rated the no.5 recruiting class on scout and no.8 on rival. call that down year because lloyd carr didnt come close in the last couple years to those rankings. And dont say those are carr's recruit, rich rodriguez did an amazing feet of retaining all the recruits other than christian wilson while adding 8 4-star players... look at what happened to nebraska recruits after a coaching change.
So simply said, RR managed to pull off a highest ranked recruiting class in recent memory, losing only 1 recruit during the switch and adding 8 4 stars, and you call that a bad year

Furthermore, we already got a verbal commitment from the #1 recruit from Michigan for the 2009 class and he is considered a *****, top 10 recruit nationally. I think he is a Defensive Tackle. I forget his name, but many are comparing him to Alan Branch, both in terms of size and strength.

big will campbell

Yeah, our recruiting class this year is sick, and to bring in all this talent in a transitional period is just incredible.

Big Will is a beast...I just hope we can keep this one away from Pete Carroll.
