Loose leaf/filler paper?

I was just shopping for more loose leaf/filler paper but noticed that the difference between the 8X10.5 size and 8.5X11 size was $4 difference at every store I went to. What is the standard loose leaf paper size for colleges? I always though it was 8.5X11 because that's what normal white printer paper is, but maybe loose leaf paper has a different standard size now?

I think my notebook which is standard size is 8.5x10 and I'm pretty sure the lined standard paper that I use is always slightly smaller than computer paper.

something you should know about college is that u are on ur own. there is no requirement like high school has. 99% of profs dont give a ***** on what type of paper u bring. Realize you are on your own. There is no standard. Its all your choice. If you are really crazy about this then I could call up ur school and ask but I bet they will think you are alittle weird.

Hm, I thought I read somewhere that professors didn't care about anything else except for the paper size/format - maybe I'm mistaken though.

Bingo.

I'm not sure why it would make a difference what kind of paper you bring. You could bring colored construction paper and it wouldn't make a difference.

edit: unless you have to write something and then hand it in; in that case, any white paper with lines is preferred.

Sorry, I should've clarified - I meant paper for turning in English essays, periodical homework assignments and such

I've had people hand in homework I had to grade on some kind of unlined Chinese rice paper that was folded into a little booklet. I wouldn't worry about half an inch on the margin.

I can honestly tell you no one would notice the difference.

everything i ever wrote was typed...don't think i ever used loose leaf except for notes

long as it doesn't stand out from the rest of the other papers (like A4 would stand out from 8.5x11 papers) it shouldn't be that much of a problem...

Paper size should matter a lil bit because when professors tell you to write 6 page papers, they are usually referring to 6 pages of 8.5x11 papers.

But I don't understand why you would be turning in a hand written english paper to your professor so I don't think it matters. Just get the 8.5x11 to be safe and chillax

Your're never going to use loose leaf paper for writing papers; everything is usually typed.
