lopsided sat scores

at the williams info session there was an admissions officer who said Williams would be somewhat understanding if a student performed well on a certain section of the sat and not the other.

these are my scores as of right now

CR: 710
Math: 600
Writing: 650

are they just saying that or do they actually mean it?

Even though those are all excellent scores, your CR is still just the average for accepted students at Williams. If you get each section up by 50 points, I’m sure you will be fine for the SAT part of the application.

Hahaha don’t even talk (790–680–670)

I’m so ■■■■■■■■.

And I think that it is somewhat looked down upon.

always remember that the SAT is a small fraction of your entire application.

What is the verdict on a 750 - verbal/750 writing/ 600 math?

Broetchen, I completely sympathize! I had a terrible math score my first time (well, compared to the others) but I got it up 90 points, which was nice…my personal take on your score is just that it makes sense that you’d apply to a LAC! haha…Besides, those are great scores.

And studentathlete, I think you may want to raise your scores a bit if you can, but as goodguysm said, SAT isn’t everything. There are a lot of other parts of an application that you can shine through.

My math score was, give or take, 100 points lower than my critical reading and writing scores… sadface

Now I have to retake it just to get my math score up.

ive taken the SAT once
crit reading-790
math-690
writing-790

it’s pretty lopsided, but do you think it’s okay?

610 - CR
790 - M

talk about lopsided.

axc, I would say you have nothing to worry about…that’s a NICE SAT score.
