Losing motivation for school

Sorry if this is in the wrong forum.

I’m a senior in high school, but because of my school district, I’m taking all of my classes at the local community college. Most of my classes are taken with people who are taking “fill in” classes for other colleges, and they are mostly in second/third year. By the end of this year, I’ll be a full year ahead, plus two classes more because of AP’s.

I’m taking the ACT late this year, but I can honestly say I expect a score of around 33. I expect acceptance on all my schools.

HOWEVER, I have a problem. I’m losing motivation for school. The classes are really easy. I’m going for business, but I’m wondering if I should skip the school, and start a business. At least start working. I’m 17, and all my family members are telling me that I should rethink leaving school. I’ll finish this year, I just don’t know if I want to go another couple of years.

What do you say? Senior slump that I’ll get past, or no?

Where are you applying?

Community colleges fill a vital role, but I don’t think you should assume that your CC classes are as inspiring as college could possibly get.

That said, if you nail down your acceptance in this cycle and then want to defer take a gap year to refresh and do some “real world” stuff, there’s nothing wrong with that either! It’s just premature at 17 to decide that higher ed has nothing more to offer you.
