Losses at your school.

This spring a sophomore committed suicide. My freshman year a guy died of cancer. Six years ago my brother, a rising junior, died of cancer, and the year or two before that another high school guy died of the exact same kind of cancer. A few years ago (before I was in high school) a girl was killed by a drunk driver. Years and years ago a girl´s head was run over by a car in the school parking lot during lunch. (I wonder how they dealt with that.)

And this past year our vice principal died of cancer.

RAN OVER HER HEAD?????

How does THAT happen????? Yeah... I'd like to see how they dealt with that.

The only death I can think of at my very large school was three of four years ago, when I was in middle school. A girl died in a car accident, or something like that.

Yeah... I was going to explain how the run-over-the-head thing happened, but thought it was unnecessary and uncalled-for detail. :(

cowtipper: what's "hill hopping"?

So... this is a bit off topic but in some cases in the same vein... how about arrests at your school? I'm curious because, considering how small mine is and how "nice" there area that I live in is, there's been a good amount over the past two years or so...

~ 3 guys for drinking
~ 1 girl for drunk driving
~ 1 guy for drug posession

You really should get your neighborhood to do an investigation on these cancer cases... is there some type of prevalent carcinogen in your area?

And um... head run over by car? Thanks for the nightmares.

A guy who I talked to a couple of times committed suicide during my freshman year. Also we've had a couple of deadly car accidents.

Nice thread, btw. Let's talk about something more light-hearted now. :D

Hill hopping is when you're on a really hilly road. You accelerate a LOT so that when you hit the top of the hill, your car leaves the ground completely for like a fraction of a second. If you're going fast enough, or if you're drunk/high and stupid, you'll lose control of the car when it hits the ground. The road in my town that people always do it on has a lot of trees very close to the road. Definitely not the best idea. lol

Can you PM me the details of the whole head run over by car scenario? I'm being a little bit dense right now, and I can't really understand how that happens. lol

Well, last year a boy was shot during one of the holiday breaks so it was really hard when everyone came back.

A girl in my grade committed suicide the day before school started (she shot herself in the mouth) Her sister came to school the next day...I dont know how she could do that..

we have like 2 drunk driving accidents every year after prom. A girl died at our school from heroine this year and younger brothers of 2 high school girls died. We also had a bomb threat during halloween from a freshman and they had to screen everyone in our school.
