Hey everyone. I'm just wondering if anyone else is in the same situation as I am. I applied to Harvard RA in December, and I got an e-mail from them a week ago telling me they had not received my school report and teacher evaluations. I know they were submitted correctly because three other colleges received them without a problem, and the Common App website says "Downloaded by College" for Harvard. Anyway, the e-mail said I had to have my teachers fax them, which they did today.

Upon asking one of my teachers, I found out that the same thing happened to the only other student she has ever evaluated for Harvard. Is this a strange coincidence, or is it some sort of game they play to weed out applicants?

“is it some sort of game they play to weed out applicants?”

Why on earth would they do that? They can just read your file and reject you without trying to fool you with some email about missing docs. Think about it. They want to initiate the receipt of more docs. That’s much more burdensome than just rejecting you.

I think you should just reply, or maybe call them, about it; say that you have submitted them, that they were included in the Common App, and that other colleges did receive them. Maybe the Admissions Office just overlooked them; in the worst case, you could send them again.
Good luck!

The same thing happened to me. I need to have them faxed by Monday. One of my teachers lost the file containing my recommendation letter and my counselor provided me with a hard copy of her letter but not the Secondary School Forms. Freaking out.

Thank you for some backup EricDHCHoi! I just think it’s a bit of a coincidence that it happened twice for my school. We do not use Naviance; we use the normal Common App website, and I trust my teacher to be able to fill out a few fields without mistake. Like I said, THREE other colleges received and processed them without a problem.
