Hello all. About one month ago I lost a USB thumb drive at work. It was attached to my key chain but it looked like the plastic eye on the end broke off and away went the thumb drive. I had about 3 years worth of homework assignments and papers on it. It also had some documents on it called solution manuals, but they were not acquired or used by me. I let my friend put all the contents of her thumb drive onto mine 3 or 4 months ago in case she happened to lose hers and I did the same with mine. I just found out the other day that she was in possession of these "solution manuals" which were copied onto my thumb drive. I have never cheated, but it is safe to say that she has. The solution manuals were for textbooks for several accounting classes she and I had taken last semester. I am scared to death someone could have found the flash drive, searched it's contents detective style and are planning to call the university with their findings. Would you be worried if you were me? Could they prove the flash drive was mine if it didn't physically have my name on it? If it came down to it I would throw her under the bus but I doubt anyone would believe me since most of the documents on the drive were papers with my name at the top and we both took the classes; her stuff that was copied onto the drive was mostly mp3 files. She said that she will deny it is hers if it gets real...good friend ehhh. Anyway, it's been about a month now, would you think some moral person would have called the university by now?

Well seeing as she’d deny it, but you’d throw her under the bus, I’d say neither of you are good friends for each other.

Anyway, I seriously doubt anyone will call your university over it. Especially since you lost it at work, not at the university. Unless you work at the university… Even then, I wouldn’t expect anyone to do it. And if it’s already been a month, then whoever found it probably wiped it and kept it, or threw it away by now.

Well I wouldn’t feel good about doing it…at all… but since the cheating materials weren’t even mine, I wouldn’t want to be expelled over it. Maybe that wouldn’t be the christian thing to do.

I hope you’re right and nothing comes of it since it’s been a month now. I work in a warehouse about 2.5 hours from the University.
