Low AP test scores

Will low AP scores affect my chances of getting into colleges like UC Berkeley? My scores are: AP Chem (3), AP Euro (4), AP Stats (5), and AP World (5). Will the 3 lower my chances of getting in? There is also a negative trend in my scores, because I got both 5's freshman year and the 3 and 4 my sophomore year. Is that bad?
Also, this year I plan to take AP US and Calc BC and can get a 5 in both. If I take AP Lang I'll probably get a 3. Would it just be better not to take the AP Lang test so I don't get another 3?

From the UC site:
“Please encourage students to take AP tests when appropriate. Although the College Board reports all AP tests results to us, students should be aware AP test scores lower than 3 will not adversely affect their chances for admission.”
If you trust them, then you’re fine.

Hi, hope you’re doing all right. First I’m pretty much of the same opinion as elunium, and I think you should really just go by your interests. If you love to take the most challenging classes possible, then by all means do AP Lang. Sure, you might get a 3, but at least you learned, right? Your GPA will be weighted, and with the 4s and 5s you’re getting in the meantime, you could become an AP scholar. That might negate some of the 3s (at least in my opinion). At any rate, good luck! :)

the main point of AP scores, are to gain college credit, so you don’t have to worry about UC berkeley denying you admission because of a 3 in an AP test :D
