Low-cost summer programs for rising sophomores?

This summer i want to do something meaningful with my time. At this point i don't really care whether the program has academic rigor or not, i just want a rewarding experience with anything related to business, politics, leadership, college, etc. The problem-- there's absolutely NO way i can afford to go to any programs I've researched online seeing how i don't have wealthy relatives with 3 grand+ to spare. Most scholarships offered at summer programs are greatly appreciated, but unfortunately not enough =[. Maybe i'm asking too much from universities by wanting a free summer program ( or maybe its the other way around >:l! ). If you guys know of any low-cost ( or even free :D) summer programs please tell me!

Next year, you can try the West Point Summer Leader’s Seminar

are you a rising college or high school sophomore?

Instead of doing a formal program, create your own program by, for instance, volunteering with a political party or with someone’s political campaign or a political cause. You’d probably learn more than with a formal program, too.

I’m a high school rising sophomore and i like your suggestion with the political campaign/volunteering. I’ve actually been trying to find a party to volunteer with, but so far i fail to find anything =/. maybe its because nothing political is happening at this time or something…idk. I’m on spring break here in Miami  and volunteering with a party/campaign sounds like something i’d enjoy doing, any solid suggestions on how to get in contact with one?

or some other summer stuffs to do ; )!?

Call you local political party, find out when their meetings are, and attend them, looking for opportunities there and getting to know people.
