Low gpa high ACT and loads of extracirriculars

Hey guys,
I’m a senior this year, and I really want to get into NYU. Issue is, I have a terribly low GPA, but a pretty good ACT score, and some great extracurriculars. My weighted GPA is a 3.4 (yeah i know ew) but I have taken 10 AP classes all of high school, with the rest of my classes being all honors. I got a 32 on the ACT and I’m looking to take it again next week to improve. For extracirriculars, I’ve volunteered at 3 hospitals, one hospital being in a third world country that treated patients for free. I’m the president of my schools culture club, and an officer in another. Assuming I write a bomb essay, do you think I can get in? Please be brutally honest lol, and any advice is appreciated.

note: I have many more volunteer hours from my church and school. I have a total of 200 volunteer hours, 100 of them being from various hospitals

If you took 10 APs and your weighted gpa is a 3.4, does that mean your unweighted gpa is below a 3.0? If so, unless there is some critical thing you’re not saying (for example, you have an Academy Award or your parent is the head of a small country where NYU wants to put yet another campus), I don’t think you are competitive but you can make it your ‘reach’ application and then try to find schools that are more likely to admit you. Do your best but don’t pin your hopes on it.

OP I was wondering if you got in.
