-Essays: No reason for turning in a mediocre one...great/excellent
-I live in CA if that matters...
-Competitive-ish high school in CA
-Top15 school placement rate: ~15%

First Choice:
-NYU Stern (maybe ED)
-University of Michigan(rolling, early october=very early)
-University of Chicago (EA)

Reach:
-University of Chicago (EA):10/90
-NYU Stern (most likely ED):20/80
-Carnegie Mellon/Tepper:25/75
-Wesleyan University:15/85
-UVA/McIntire:20/80
-Georgetown University/McDonough:20/80?

Low Reach/Match:
-University of Michigan (as early as possible):40/60
-Boston College:50/50
-Univ. of MD/Smith:45/55?
-UIUC/Business:55/45?
(need more schools here!!!)

Low Match/Safety:
-Indiana U/Kelley:80/20
-Babson College:65/35?
-Bentley College:75/25?
-Northeastern U.:70/30
-Penn State U.:80/20?

Seems like people got tired of sifting thru 5 pages of my old thread, so....

Thanks.

your old thread said UC davis

you do know that they have no business program right?

Uchicago doesn't have much of an undergrad business program either, they DO have a spectacular grad, but no undergrad

if you get a 2100+ and have a 4.0 W GPA, add in UC Berkely as a low reach/match

Your predictions are pretty good.
Slightly higher chances than what you predicted at: Georgetown, UMD, Indiana, Northeastern, Penn State
I have no idea about Babson and Bentley, but the rest of your predictions look pretty accurate.

Boston College will be much harder, but I would think Maryland UIUC would be easier.

If I go to Chicago=I'm doing econ.
And yeah I dumped UC Davis. I really don't want to smell cow manure in class. :(

By the way, I AM doing NYU Stern ED.

Gtown still a reach; plenty of people w/ much better stats are rejected. Maybe if you go EA, unless you are def. doing that at Chicago

IU is a safety for you, easy to get into. You could get a full ride there, try for the Wells Scholarship or Kelley Scholars.

SAT Update:
I got a 1940. Collegeboard those sons of b*tches. According to PR's scoring guide (mind you this guide is harsher) I should have gotten a 2090.

I'm retaking this.

When I said slightly higher chances, I didn't mean bump from reach to match. Like Georgetown you predicted 20% chance and I'd predict 30-40ish%.

If you can't improve the SATs, that will hurt. Perhaps try taking the ACTs?

That would require more studying. So apparantly I arbitrarily got a more difficult test than the guy/girl sitting behind/in front of/to the right of me, and got *****ed over. This is so unfair!!!!! I can improve my SAT. Again, I should have gotten a 2090 or something in that range.

Bumpbumpbump

Bump

Please?!?!?!!?

is 1900..or..2090 considered high SAT?

The GENERAL trend for the Ivies this year seems to be that you need a score in the 2200s, at least.

Yeah, get those SATs up-unless you can get at least 2100+, many of those reach schools will become near-impossible to get into. Like the other guy said, try the ACTs-I only got around 2140 on the SATs, but got a 34 ACT first try-equivalent of a 2280.

the abbreviation for the University of Virginia is UVa. not UVA

id have to say michigan is more of a reach than a slight reach for you....oos admissions is pretty tough for umich...having a sub 3.7 uw gpa and a sub 2000 sat doesnt help much either...of course if you retake and get 2100+...then id say your chances are slight reach.

^ I agree, UMich is hard to get into if your outta state. And UMD is def. easy to get into if your outta state. Just get your SAT above 2100
