Low gpa, need help.

I have a low gpa around 3.1. Probably I could get in cal poly pomona, UCR, and a chance for UCI.

What if I get rejected for UCI, but got in UCR and cal poly pomona.

Which one would you rather go for? cal poly or UCR.

UCR hands down.

nojk.

According to my friend; “I’d rather die then go to riverside”… #ouch.

im not saying riverside is a weak choice but riverside is a weak choice.

Choose where you like best…
I know that sounds cheesy but it’s true. I chose a UC over some good CSUs for the sake of it being a UC.

Now I’m stuck trying to transfer out. Honestly if it’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s to screw what everyone says and thinks. They’re not the ones that have to pay or attend the school.

Both are fine schools and you get your degree either way.

With a 3.1, all hope is not lost. I’ve seen people with lower GPAs and no TAGs get into UCI (non-impacted major of course). I’m not saying you’re in, but just because you’re slightly below the average GPA for admits doesn’t mean you’ll get rejected.

If you’re a business admin major however, then things may be different. Non-impacted major? Then you still stand a worthy chance. As for UCR, it’s all a matter of perspective. If you think it’s a good school then by all means go for it. Don’t let other people’s opinions change what you want to do.

The only major worth doing it at UCR is business. There are more, but I may have forgotten ems.

My g.p.a is lower than I thought after I did a back of the envelope calculation.

I am an engineering student (that has been through a lot of ups and downs) and honestly if i get accepted to UCR, I will go there if I don’t get accepted anywhere else. I want to do research, and UCR is not bad in many different disciplines. Not only that, but it is one of the most diverse schools in the nation. Honestly, for me, that is a good draw.

I was looking up their diff programs, and they are ranked 50 for computer engineering. That’s fine by me. It will prepare me to go to any grad school. Don’t believe the hype… (but it is hot as hell in the summer and probably has the worst location out of all the UC’s)

It’s undergrad. We didn’t care bout grades too much starting out, so make up for it after you transfer…no matter where that is.
