Low GPA-- should i even get my hopes up?? :(

<p>Hi everyone,
I am going to a ccc, almost done with the IGETC, and just turned in my TAG for UCI(social ecology), UCD(psych), and UCSB (psych)</p>

<p>I finished most the prereqs for all of these and I am majoring in Psychology.</p>

<p>GPA: 2.9
It was 3.1 but I got a D over summer(trust me dont ever take a 7 am class when youre nocturnal). The requirement is only 2.7 and I think my counselors have given me false hope...</p>

<p>I am completely eligible(according to my unhelpful couselors) and am dying to transfer. I am using CSUs as backup of course but I really want the opportunity for research, etc. or I dont really want to major in Psych/soc studies.</p>

<p>What are my chances of getting in?</p>

<p>You should be able to get into a UC if you retake that class. The average gpa for psychology transfer is slightly higher the yours but not by much. Will you have 60 units done spring?</p>

<p>i will have over 60 transferable units for sure.</p>

<p>but... i didnt really get any ECs done</p>

<p>it seems like everyone posting has a higher gpa average (intimidating)</p>

<p>don't worry unless you're applying to ucb or ucla ec's have absolutely NO weight on your admission.</p>
