No, I was being serious. Like, I know 3.6 UW isn't extremely bad, but it's not impressive either. Before I was shooting for 3.8, then 3.7, but now those aren't even possible for me. My school has so many smart students, many of whom have 3.8+ and some still have straight A's, while taking AP classes and numerous extra-curriculars. I take lots of AP classes too, but I've already gotten 8 B's and 2 C's in my high school career hitherto. I'm just afraid 3.6 is too low for schools I want to get into. (I'm not talking Ivies or anything, I'd never get into those) And some people I know are approaching a 5.0, while my weighted GPA is only 4.3-4.4. My mom doesn't think I will get into good schools, and half-jokes that I'm going to community college, but increasingly she seems to be more serious about it. I just wanted other people's opinion, if 3.6 isn't too low for good schools =)

a 3.6 is not low. A low gpa would be like 2.0

We need to know what you mean by "good".

if you're not aiming for ivies or prestigious publics or amazing lacs, you should still be able to get into some very good schools. your mom seems to have a very skewed perception of the college race. you and i have the same weighted gpa and im definitely not going to community college. where do you live? what are you looking at?

I want to get into UCLA, or something like that, but I'm not sure my gpa is high enough.

You can certainly get into UCLA with that GPA. If you have a very high SAT score and you are a CA resident, you actually have a very good chance.

People on CC make me sick. A 3.6 isn't anywhere near low! You want low? My GPA is low! And guess what! I'm still going to a good college!
