So I just finished my Junior year and report cards came out today...so I finished this year with a 3.6 GPA, however all my years while at school I have a 3.37 GPA average my question is, is that good?

Is that unweighted or weighted? Also, what kind of colleges are you aiming for?

ya 3.6 is good, but its not awesome.
3.37, thats just bad.

Well on a scale of 0 to 4, your gpa looks like a … 3.27! So yeah its a little more than 3 quarters as good as it could be.

Are you serious?

lol yes I am serous, I am trying to see what colleges I could/can get into

One with Sailing is desired, Because I am a varsity Sailor at my high school

Ask your counselor if s/he’s available for a list of schools that match your academic standings.

Well, to be honest it’s not awesome, but the great thing about your grades is that you’re improving! Colleges like seeing an upward trend in GPAs. It shows that you’re serious, you’ve realized your past mistakes, and that you care. Keep trying your best and give it all your senior year, especially the first semester, to really prove to your colleges.

yes, they might look at it that way but they could also look at it this way.

you slacked of all the way untill grade 12 and now you actually care becuase university is coming up.

A 3.3 will get you into lots of schools, especially with average to above average act/sat. Don’t worry. Go to college board and look up colleges. It will show you stats and how you compare. You will be fine.

Alright just some side notes GPA wise
8th(part of high school, only highschool credits counted in overall GPA): 2.45
9th: 3.08
10th: 3.45
11th: 3.6

[Hobart and William Smith Colleges](Hobart and William Smith College Athletics - Official Athletics Website) Sailing

Look at Hobart & William Smith College (NY)

Well an up ward trend always looks good…

Yes I guess so haha I was thinking of Salve Regina or Washington college…

Any thought on getting into those schools?

@er111a - I wouldn’t listen to 335. With his atrocious grammar and spelling, I don’t see how he could get better than a 3.37 either.

You might have a shot at Salve (and if sailing is a real priority, Roger Williams, which is right down the road, might be another one to consider…the average GPA there is around 3.2).

Good luck!
