<p>Hi! I have a question. So I want to apply for the Questbridge College Prep Scholarship. I'm worried though. I also want to apply for the National Match Scholarship in Aug/Sept. My parents filed their taxes today and found out they made around $84,000 together last year. I will be the first person to go to college in my family. My parents were born and raised in Nigeria and moved over here to have a better life. We are a family of 6 and I am the oldest. Around the middle of November 2010, my father lost his job of 12 years and things became hard for us. My mother was working and decided to get another job to help make ends meet. She was now working 2 fulltime jobs as well as trying to raise 4 kids. I was a freshman in high school and my grades started to slip. While my mother was at work I had to help take care of my younger siblings. I did everything that my mom usually did when she would be around. We struggled alot. I was more worried about my family than my grades. I look back on it and I get angry, I wish I could go back and redo my freshman year. My dream is to attend Notre Dame but I'm not sure if thats going to happen. Although things were hard for us, I learned alot. To appreciate everything I have. A friend of mine who attends Notre Dame and is a QB scholar as well reccomended QB to me. Now i'm having second thoughts. My dad, luckily recieved a job around August 2012 and I thank God everyday for it. I don't want this to sound like a sob story. I just need help. Should I still apply? What should I do?</p>
