Hey, I am an Iranian American too!

You have similar stats of mine, I will tell you what happens to me :)

Jan sats are not taken into consideration ( check website for deadlines)

It was pretty stupid of you to take the Bio Sat 2 freshmen year but your sats are good other wise. Just hope you kiled them with your essays!

BOL!

Well, in my school, I had honors bio freshman year.
I think my essay were pretty creative.
thanks

i too am an iranian american applying to jhu! we should start our own thread...

Iranian Americans unite!!!
Salaam to all of you out there!

1340 definitely shouldn't hurt you- the numbers they have on the site are the admitted stats, not matriculating. A LOT of people I know at Hopkins had low 1300s / even high 1200s. Your GPA is great, ECs are fine, and they like people who work. Good luck and don't worry!

I actually did my 10 dollar essay on going to Iran.

How could you go to Iran on $10, may I ask?

silver - does that include BME students?

Hmm... I only know a few BMEs... most of them had quite high SATs, but one had less than a 660 M. Of course, the BME program is highly highly competitive, so better scores are going to help.

oh i already got in, just wanted to get a clue about my future class
tashi - good chance make sure you write a killer essay

Tashi, my uncle is a pilot at Iran Air.

That's fortunate. So you've probably been to Iran many times before? I've never been to Iran...a topic which I wrote about for almost all of my essays. I want to go really bad but b/c of the political situation, my dad won't go back and thus I can't. But I have a lot of family there that visits here a few times a year. I really wish I could go to Iran.

My dad goes often (he is building a bunch of apartments and high end housing developments) but I have never been, because of the political troubles, and because, as a teenager, they might hold me "hostage" and force me into the military, as what happens to all iranian male who do not attend an Iranian University.

Even though I am female, I know where you are coming from. I have several male cousins in Iran and they are trying to come the the US so that they do not have to serve in the military after they graduate from college. Where are you from?

I lived in Palos Verdes for 8 years (Its in LA County), Cleveland for 8 years, an NYC for a year and a half now...

I just came back from the Iranian concerts in Vegas... that was loads of fun.

Wow, you've lived all over the US.
I live in Connecticut.

Anywhere neer Greenwich? Thats what I go to school.

Not really. I live near New Haven, but my dad works in Stamford.
