Hello,I have a brief question. For transfer students,is it better send a low sat score or not sending any score?I hope to hear for you soon.Thank you

Depends on the school. If the school requires an SAT score, it would be in your best interest to send them one. However, there is nothing wrong with just taking the SAT again for a higher score.

Also, what year of college are you in? SAT scores matter less and less the more time you spend in college so if you have 30+ credits, you most likely don’t need scores. But again check with each college you’re interested in.

Thank you for reply.I just finished my freshman year with 31 credits and I’m taking 16 credits for the next semester for a total of 47 credits. I am thinking to transfer to an Ivy league school.I started university a little bit later than normal students do,so I would have many troubles to remember math of high school and therefore my sat score will be bad.But I have a very high GPA,great recommendation letters, and at least in my professors opinion, I’m very good to write essays. And I don’t know if it counts, but I have reached great achievements in my sport, soccer.

Yeah, you’re still considered a credential sophomore so your SAT score may carry some weight. Also, are you considering applying for sophomore year or junior year? If you transfer junior year, your SAT won’t matter as much.

Sounds like you have a lot of good pieces for your future application, though!

I’m considering to apply for next fall.I still will be sophomore, but at my second semester.Basically I would transfer after 3 semesters of college and 47 credits earned.

Ok, I would probably retake the SAT again since you’ll be a second semester sophomore and SAT scores and high school transcript are still important.

do you think they still consider my application without sat score, too?

Check the transfer admission websites for the universities you are interested. Cornell says send standardized scores if taken http://admissions.cornell.edu/apply/transfer-applicants/transfer-application-checklist

yes I saw…I’m sure I cannot take a high score for what i told you before. So I’m scared that sending sat can affects negatively my application…I think after 3 semesters of university is not that important
