Just wondering who got into UCD with a low SAT score?

I got in with 1700.

I had a classmate that got in with ~1200, but she also had a 4.0 GPA to go with it.

Probably 1200 out 1600 or a recruited athlete. I do no think any UC would accept a 1200/2400 or someone is pulling your leg.

Nah. It was a 1200 out of 2400. We both took it on the same test date and I remember her telling me that she thought the essay portion was really difficult afterwards.

I was surprised when I heard about her score, but she also had a 4.0 GPA, so you could tell what kind of a student she was. Her personal statement was probably what helped her the most, though. (She’s a cancer survivor.)

UCD does not care about SAT scores. I have a 2300 SAT score, but I did not get in because my 4.00 capped UCGPA is way below average.

UCD does care about SAT scores but GPA is consider more important. SAT scores reflect what an individual can accomplish in 1 day, while GPA reflects what an individual does over several years. There is an article posted on the site which states that GPA is a better indicator of success in college than the SAT.
