So I just took the SAT subject tests in June for Literature and US history. I didn’t do as well as I wanted on both of them (Lit-730 and 84th percentile/ US history 710 and 67th percentile). Should I retake them or do you think these scores will be okay? Also, I know Williams doesn’t require these tests anymore, but I’m still curious.
730 Lit isn’t low and is worth sending. That USH score is a little weak, but probably won’t actually hurt your chances–I’d put it as a “neutral.”
@marvin100 Thanks for the input!
Somehow I got in with a Lit 700 and a Bio-M 620 (just started AP Bio that year and took it in September lol…got a 5 fwiw)
I’m a white male, no hooks or anything other than musical accomplishments. You’ll be fine - more numerically qualified than I was where that’s concerned. That said, my Williams essay was one of the strongest I wrote, and they seemed to like the narrative of my app (or so they told me when I visited campus). If you’re rejected, it won’t be because of those scores. Just make sure the rest of your app is rock solid. Less test prep, more essay writing and revising and revising and revising and revising (no joke revised my essays probably 50+ times each).
OH, and SAT IIs are no longer required by Williams! So you don’t actually HAVE to send them, although many people still will so that’s something to consider.
