Yep thats pretty much it. Whats the lowest ACT score that you know of getting into Cornell CAS. Me it was a low 20 for CAS.

Come on I need some hope

A 20 ACT is VERY unlikely - less than 1% of their class. I’m not saying it’s impossible, however. If you wrote some amazing essays, are a legacy from a family that donates large sums of money, or are an underrepresented minority, there is still hope.

Good luck, and try not to make yourself crazy! We still have to wait 2.5 months!

you never know, but in my opinion it would take you having status as a child of the most generous type alumni for many years of big time giving, or some superstar heavily recruited athlete for Basketball - the type of athletes that Stanford recruits. the only sure thing with college admissions is that having legacy of a big time generous alumni is always the best kind of hook as long as you have half way decent grades, second is being some amazing athlete at one of the school’s major spectator sports, like division 1 Basketball or Football. without that, it could be very, very difficult with such a low score. but you never know.
I don’t think URM would make a big difference with that type of score. my opinion.

I know I wish it could come sooner so I can get it over with. O God Cornell became the new Columbia for me. Here we go again

^Columbia09, did you take the SATs? Maybe you’ll do better on SAT than ACT

No actually I did better on the ACT.

I did get 600+ on 2 subject tests however

Well, don’t give up hope!
Most top schools view applicants holistically, so don’t worry. Scores are only one part of your application.

There is hope. There was an acceptance last year for a 19xx sat score due to the fact that the family made 26k/ year total and he had to work a LOT and he did very well in school otherwise in his super poor district.
You need some super - immense hook like this though. This requires more than your standard athlete recruit / legacy level hook.

Having a very low family income is a hook?

double post

In a way. If you come from a very poor family background/ background in general and you excel in ways that show that you are an exceptional human being then yes. Writing about it doesn’t really help though unless the admissions office see from your stats / parent’s jobs/ location / wealth of school district/ your history agree. stuff like that.
