<p>Hey, I was wondering what is the lowest SAT score you have heard of for anyone at Colgate? It could be out of 1600 or 2400, it really doesnt matter. </p>
<p>My SATs are really low for Colgate (680m 640w 550v) and I really want to go here. I have a 4.44 GPA (ranked 13 our of 600) and 1300+ hours of community service. </p>
<p>Do you know anyone who got in with scores similar to mine?

<p>I knew of two people with a 1150 SAT (610M 540V) and (500M 650V) adjusted for re-centering. The second graduated magna cum laude and became a professor. I had one other friend who had a 700M 560V whose hs class rank wasn't as high (before the days when community service was used as any kind of criteria) who did pretty well at Colgate. I also knew one person with a 1020 SAT, but he was an all-american RB deciding between Colgate and Yale.</p>
<p>I know of a few people with scores like the ones gellino posted that are here now, but they are all football players. Not counting them, i cant think of anyone else with those level scores. There are probably some black students, but I'm just guess about that and I'm sure someone will give me hell over this even though I'm right.</p>
<p>Except for the last person, none of the others I mentioned were any type of varsity athelete or black. I never seen any documentation of the black vs white SAT at Colgate, but know there was an article in the Dartmouth newspaper pre-centered SAT days reporting at that time that the avg white student SAT was 1378 and the avg black student SAT was 1090. Add ~ 80 points to those scores to be comparable to post-centering scores.</p>

<p>im kind of lost here, how would that make it easier for you to get in with low sat scores?</p>
<p>no, im from southern California and Im asian so I think that works against me. They expect more from asians, which really stinks!</p>

<p>Ok, well, i was accepted at Colgate for the class of 2011 and my highest SAT score was like a 1210 (out of 1600) or something, so I wouldnt be too worried about it (by the way I am not a football player or any kind of sports buff at all). My ACTs were only like a 29 Composite. I am sure that all your other great aspects like all that Community Service, Class Rank, ect. will speak loudly to your benifit, sometimes it isn't all about test scores. Good Luck!!</p>

<p>Considering that 1/3 of all Colgate students have below a 1300, I find this unlikely to be true.</p>
<p>Glad to hear that, although I thought that the test standards had gone up in the last few years. The implication, that while many students currently at 'gate may be at or below the 1300 level, it'd be much tougher for them to get in now...True dat ?</p>
<p>From what I've seen on PR, the 25-75% SAT range has basically stayed in the 1270-1430 range for the last three years. In about the five previous years before this, the SAT median moved from 1300 to 1350, getting back to around where it had been (pre SAT recentering) in the early to mid '90's.</p>
