Loyola Maryland vs SUNY Geneseo vs UVM

These are my top three schools at the moment. I was wait-listed at Holy Cross, but I feel it is unlikely that I will be removed from it (and no aid will be offered for the 55k+ school).

I'm a NY resident and plan to major in Biology (and go to dental school later on). SUNY Geneseo seems to be the best for the best price, but I was only offered Spring Admission and don't want to fall behind. I was also wondering if it is "awkward" to join mid-year. Would I be considered the "new kid"?.

I was offered 10k/year at UVM, and I generally love the state of Vermont. I've always wanted to live there since I was young, and I love skiing, snowboarding, and playing hockey (I plan to join a club team).

My parents really love Loyola. It wasn't my first choice, but I was rejected from my other top Jesuit schools (BC and Fordham). I have family in Maryland, so that was the main reason I applied in the first place. I know it's a little pricey, but it seems to offer a good liberal education. Also, how is Loyola's general reputation/prestige?

How are the science departments in each of these schools? Even if you have input on one of them, it would really help me out. Thank you.

I'm also visiting all of these schools next week.

My S is a soph at Loyola and loves it. He was undecided when he enrolled and now is a business major. They recently completed the expansion of the Donnelly Science Center. State of the Art. It has a very strong alumni and my son already has met with alumni mentors to discuss his carrier choices. The career center has helped him figure out what he likes and share with him the opportunities that exist. The campus is beautiful and the dorms after freshman year are suites with kitchens. My S had a quad freshman year. His dorm in Newman this year is absolutely huge. Bmore is a great city and there is plenty to do. Partying is limited on campus so most go to out. If you decide to enroll, do the Pre-Orientation trips. My son did and is now on staff at OAE. He has grown tremendously in his first year there. Its not cheap, I know, but I am am very happy with his experience there, and more importantly so is he.
