hi all,
my stats are 32 act & 4.27 gpa
i’m applying to lmu, usd, and chapman this year and based on the few other threads that discuss stats and merit scholarships (and based on net calculator approximations for each school) from these schools i am estimating i will probably receive around 25k/yr from lmu, 20-25k/yr from usd, and 25-29k/yr from chapman. can anyone offer any insight as to how accurate these numbers are based on experience or word of mouth? thanks so much!!
We are visiting 2/3 of those schools next weeks with about the same stats. I hope your figures are accurate I’ll see what I can find out while we are there.
thanks so much azmomof3
My niece went to USD and I think that $20-25 is in the ballpark. USD is not known to negotiate, so take the figure you get directly from them as a ‘best and final’ offer. She did get a very nice position in student government and the ‘pay’ was tuition grant but I think that was the only increase in aid she received.
thanks twoinanddone, did your neice have similar stats for the 20-25k?
She’s graduated, so applied 6 years ago. I think she got $15k/yr but imagine that’s gone up to keep up with tuition increases.
bumping bc i heard from lmu that i should be receiving my merit award via snail mail in the next few days. im dying to know what people with similar stats are getting!! thanks!
Agree…USD would not even discuss DD’s financial aid award in 2006. In fact, the financial aid officer told us that…and then just walked out of the room. It was beyond rude. We figured if this is how they treat accepted students…it was a no go for our family.
Good luck…and I hope one of your choices is an affordable option for you.

you already have multiple threads running on the same topic. Since you are asking these same questions on the school’s forum, I am closing this thread
