I was just wondering if anyone has been admitted to the LSA Honors Program who wasn't offered admission right when they were accepted to the University. I applied to the program right after my Campus Day which was back at the beginning of March so it has been a month now since I sent my essay in. Does anyone know when they notify students as to whether or not they've been accepted into the program? Thanks.

From what I heard at the Campus Day that I attended with my daughter - There are several processes going on with respect to admission into the Honors Program. Some students are offered admission to the Honors Program immediately or shortly after being accepted and without even submitting an essay. Others get an invitation to apply and it is recommended that they submit an essay. Essays are reviewed shortly after receipt. Some students are accepted into the Honors Program within weeks of submitting their essay. If the reviewers are not 100% certain that the student should be accepted into the Honors Program, they may wait until the deadline for applying to the Honors Program and review all remaining applications/essays before sending out notifications to that particular group of candidates. I believe that the deadline for submission of essays is mid-April.
