LSA, RC, ROSS, Cost, Honors

Hi all,

I am most likely going to Michigan this fall and I have a few questions.

I am admitted to LSA and wishes to try for Ross School next year so is there anything I need to take note? like what courses to take or what I need to do (other than working hard to get good grades)?

Also, I chose Residential College when I applied and now I'm admitted to there as well. Read briefly about what it is about. But just wondering RC can still get me into Ross School? I know RC is part of LSA but i also want to know which one is better? in terms of everything ranging from experiences, life, academics etc.

I had received a mail from the school asking me to apply for honors program too. may i check what is it about? and likewise, can i go to Ross school from honors program? and I am in honors, do I still get to stay in RC?

LASTLY, for school fees and expenses, how much is it a year? and for school fees, do we pay one lump sum or every month ? or every year?

really a lot of questions running through my mind now; tried surfing the school's website too. So thanks in advance for those who reply. THANKS! :)

The pre requisite courses for the Ross School of Business are Math 115 or higher , English 125 and Econ 101. You can check up the details of these courses on the LSA course guide. If you want to take a higher level course you could check that up too. Other courses - well whatever gets your fancy - talk to advisors and see what courses are recommended for the business school.

LSA Honors program is a very prestigious program for the top students in the LSA. It is very academic oriented. You can enter Ross from this program - someone on CC said that the transfer rate is 90% from Honors to Ross. I do not know whether this information is verified.

For School Fees - its given very clearly on the website.

ok thanks gomez, thanks for your reply :).

I would also like to check if I enter the RC, is it possible to graduate in three years?

anyone? and also is there anyone out there who's in the RC?

Answers to some questions - yes, you can be in the RC and Honors. However, you will have to live in the RC dorms rather than South Quad, which is an option for those accepted in Honors. Most of those who want to be considered for the Honors Program submit the requested essay, although some people get in without doing so. If you are interested it might be a good idea to respond very soon. You should also take into account the fact that you will have two required classes for the Honors program plus some required courses for the RC. Therefore, you will have very limited or possibly no choice of what you take. Your first year academic success, extracurriculars, required Ross application essays and the like will factor into whether or not you get admitted to Ross. Tuition and fees are listed on the website but figure about a 6% increase for out of state tuition since only the current tuition and fees are listed until August.

hey thanks goblue. so let's say if i wish to transfer to elsewhere after my first year, i should not take honors or RC right? cos it might restrict the courses that i will take.is that right?
