LSA to Ross Transfer: What courses?

I’m looking to transfer into Ross my sophomore year, Fall 2018. Besides the required Econ 101, 1st year writing, and Calc courses, what other courses would be useful to take? Should I take Calculus II instead of EECS 183? I’m looking to take the most challenging relevant courses.

Current course plan:
Semester 1/(credits):
1st yr writing (4)
Econ 101 (4)
Creative Expression (3)
Calc 1 (4)
Credits: 15

Semester 2:
Econ 108 (1)
Asian Language 104 (4)
Stats 280 (4)
Creative Expression (3)
EECS 183 (4)
Credits: 16

Thank you for your time!

If I’m not mistaken I think you have to take Econ 108 concurrently with 101, also what the heck it stats 280? just do 250 like every other student in Michigan and get an A. Furthermore if you are trying to take the most challenging relevant courses why are you taking creative expressions? I would suggest the following schedule.

1st year writing
Econ 101
calc 1
EECS 183

Stats 250
calc 2
Econ 102
Asian language 104

The only hard class in that bunch is calc 2, maybe 183 depending on your skills. IDK anything about 104. TBH if ECON 101 or 102 are hard for you then you aren’t going to get into Ross anyways due to the increased difficulty of sophomore admit

@michmaybe Stats 280 is a new class that opened up last year. It’s Honors Intro Stats.

Also on the course guide Econ 108 is only advised to be taken concurrently with Econ 101.

@JAvocado What type of business are you into? Or I guess a better way to phrase it is what aspect of business is appealing to you? Is it working with people, the numbers, management, etc. I think what might be useful is to take classes that focus in developing skills for those fields (i.e. if you like working with people, taking a psych or soc class would help). It’ll help you develop your story better for Ross

@michmaybe I love art and my interest in art has allowed me to assume leadership roles in high school. I don’t see anything wrong in making room for my other passions. Also thank you for the correction on Econ 108, I missed that. I’m not taking Stats 250 as I’m confident my math skills are strong enough to take Honors 280.

@hailbate Business management - I like working with people and while I’d say I’m very well rounded, that also means I don’t especially excel in any academic area. Business made the most sense to me as a career path.
I’ve taken AP Psych and did very well in the class but due to a very badly timed medical leave I had to take, I might not have scored the required 4 on the AP test. I also took AB Calculus and did well in the class, but again, badly timed medical leave, I highly doubt I scored a 4 on the AP. Besides relevant courses like Calc and Econ, I’m interested in computer science and visual art.
I didn’t apply pre-admit into Ross because rejected pre-admits are not allowed to re-apply and I wanted an extra year to take more business relevant courses, etc. I founded and taught a visual arts club my senior year and interned at a company that creates system integration solutions. I didn’t have the chance to take Econ or Stats in high school as I filled my schedule with Symphonic Orchestra and the classes required for our Visual Arts Conservatory designation.

Thank you for taking the time to respond!

@JAvocado Think about taking courses like Psych 111 (Intro Psych) in the case you don’t get the AP score to place out, a History of Art class (since you are clearly very interested in visual art), or something like Cognitive Science (Cogsci 200). Just trying to throw random suggestions at you if you need other classes.
