LSA's scholarship funding seems to have dried up

I recently called the LSA Scholarship Office and was informed that, this year, they were not able to award their typical number of merit scholarships.

...Which corroborates my observations of applicants from my instate high school. A high school where top students haven't been given a cent.

Has anyone received an LSA Dean's Scholarship this year? Or anything else merit-based besides the endowed scholarships (like the Shipman)?

Thanks to anybody who can provide any info. I'm pretty curious.

Or maybe I'm just trying to rationalize to myself why Michigan doesn't seem to think I'm worth anything.

Thanks!

I’m not sure what you mean by endowed scholarships, but I receieved the Michigan Regents Merit Scholarship. Ha sorry if that doesn’t help.

I received the Regents as well, as did several other people I know. It seems pretty easy to get (as it should be, considering that it’s a pretty insignificant amount of money). I think the Regents is given out directly by UM’s Financial Aid Office, not LSA.
