LSP Question

So, I am very disappointed in my GPA this semester. I am a junior who is planning on applying EDI for Journalism this fall.

I ended up with a 3.4 gpa unweighted (my school doesn't rank btw) and I am predicting around a 4 or 5 on my APUSH & AP English Language exams. I know my GPA is extremely low for NYU's CAS... :( It's not even my AP classes that brought me down, but my regular college prep classes! I just find my AP classes so much easier. (To sum it up: Took 2 honors classes (Bio + English) sophomore year, 2 APs this year, 4 APs senior year)

I don't know of my June 2012 SAT yet, but I know I will be taking it again in October. Senior year I am taking 4 APs (Gov, English Lit, Pyschology & Enviromental Science), Finite Math, Photography & Web-Design. I am trying to achieve score of 2100 on the SAT. I believe that I have a very good list of ECs that demonstrate my passion for journalism. Haven't done my essays yet, but I am going to try my best to make them high quality and representative of who I am.

So, the question is.... should I apply directly to LSP or should I just apply through NYU? I know I've read on here of some students applying through NYU but getting placed in LSP.
And another question... do you think I even have a chance of getting into LSP? I will be forever grateful to even get accepted into LSP!

Sorry for posting so many topics... I guess I just needed a place to articulate my thoughts.

If your first choice is to major something in CAS, then apply for CAS. If you get rejected you will be placed into LSP if you meet the admission requirements.
