LSP vs GW (+12k Scholarship)

I'm planning on majoring in Political Science, and I love both schools, but after thinking about it for a long time, I didn't want to deny myself the opportunity to go to NYU, so I'm settled on LSP. I'm forgoing a 12.5k Scholarship a year at GW for virtually no scholarship at NYU. Money is fairly tight, but I still convinced my dad to roll out the extra doe, although it does put an extra financial strain on him.
I do have my heart set on attending NYU LSP, but am I making a mistake?

please consider that costs will increase over the next 4 years.

I don’t know your EFC or family situation, but if you are tossing aside 50K over 4 years from GW, that is almost a years worth of college.

You can’t go wrong at either school, but if finances are an issue, it’s something to think about

yes you are. if money is tight, it’s not good. what happens if your parents have even a bigger financial problem. since money is tight, that means less money will be saved. so if a bigger issue came up, it might be worse off for you since you wont be able to pay for the education. besides LSP is a 2-year program. you still have to maintain a 3.0 GPA at least and certain standards to transfer directly to CAS. GW is the better political science location since it’s in Washington DC. then again we have the UN and many international organizations. if you only want to do federal jobs, GW is best. if you prefer organizations with more international pressence, NYU is maybe better though at a bigger financial cost. keep in mind, cost of living index is slightly higher in NYC than Washington DC so you spend even more than just tuition. of course, area around college campuses are always more expensive due to monopolies but you will have to travel further to Queens or Brooklyn for cheaper things.

Yeah, actually a huge surprise just came today… GW decided to give me an ADDITIONAL $19,800 in aid an TOP of the 12k… so $31,800 free money.
um, I’m going to GW now lol.

Anyone think this will have a significant impact on my job search down the line?

no no no no no
