LSU class of 2025

What if I don’t get in? Do I also get a status update in my portal telling me so, or do I just never hear anything?

My D was accepted 3 days (11/12/2020) after she turned in application on 11/09/2020. The new email regarding more scholarship came in 4 days ago.

We are from Atlanta and attending on 2/19 also. My daughter has not toured a large college campus before so we are going to make the trip. So many schools aren’t doing the in-person tours - I thought it would be good to visit the ones that are doing in-person. My nephew and his wife both attended LSU and loved it! My daughter is still undecided.

Thank you! That is helpful.

Did you see the Destination LSU admitted student event scheduled for the following Friday, 2/26? It’s from 9-4 instead of 9-1 for Eye of the Tiger on 2/19. Now I’m wondering if we should cancel our Eye of the Tiger registration & switch to Destination LSU. I didn’t have much luck researching the events online, so I emailed & called LSU to get more info, but I haven’t heard back yet.

I think the february event is booked up, but they opened another event in march. i’m sure they will accommodate!

oh and the destination has breakout sessions for specific areas of study.

Where do you see the March date? That works better for us anyway. They sent us an email for the February one, but not for March.

Yes, I noticed the 2/26 event seems to be for the College of Engineering, which is one of my son’s interests, but not his main interest.

i saw the dates in the admission portal, once you click the link there are additional options for specific schools or majors for an hour or two out of the full day.

My son will there 2/25 and 2/26 for scholars week. Destination LSU is included.
Still trying to find out how students are finalist for Stamps and presidential scholarships.

Are they both full-ride scholarships? If so, one cannot get both.

Correct.
The way I understand it students are competing for stamps and the highest ranked that do not win are given presidential. Maybe-just an assumption.
Both are full cost of tuition so we’ll be happy with either of course.

I am 100% sure that STAMPS is not mere a full-tuition scholarship. It is full-ride scholarship which means you could pay zero to complete your bachelor degree. Its value is exactly equal to the published Cost Of Attendence from LSU, for example $33590/y for instate.

$50267/year for OOS

You can spare some money if you manage to use less than COA. And I have heard those spared money can be used for a graduate school some how.

In theory, an OOS STAMPS scholar will bring $50267 to LSU while an instate STAMPS scholar will only bring $33590 as the funding will be provided by STAMPS foundation. If I were the AO, I would award all 10 STAMPS scholars to OOS so that LSU could make $ 667,080 more money over 4 years.

@FeiXing I meant to say full cost of attendance. Big difference is stamps has potential 14k of enrichment and laptop stipend

Presidential has 2k study abroad stipend
Both have research opportunities

Both Presidential and Stamps are invitation only, correct? Only those who got the email are eligible?

@elephant03. correct
