What should my safety be? I have a 1820 (1230 (m+v)) SAT scores and will end this year with a 3.8ish weighted GPA (3.5ish unweighted).

I like football, women and some of the more risque in life, but I also want a good education.

I'm majoring in polisci and ASU is ranked much higher than LSU, but I'd rather be in Baton Rouge than Arizona as far as weather and culture go, but Pheonix I'd imagine is a much better place for someone of my political leanings to start a career than the south is (Maybe I'm thinking to far ahead).

I've also considered Michigan State, but I dodn't know if I'm comfortable with it as a safety.

So yeah.

My daughter was accepted last year to both LSU and ASU as well. Each offered many of the things she was looking for - strong academic programs, campus environment, school spirit, big time football, greek system, a chance to live in a different part of the country, etc, etc. After one trip to visit Baton Rouge she was hooked. Loved the campus. People were all extremely nice. She was offered the Tiger scholarship waiving out of state tuition (I believe you would qualify for partial or full scholarship as well). She is also now a Poli Sci major. Dont know about your political leanings, but she has told me that there are a wide range of political views on campus from very lilberal to more conservative. PM me if you have other questions. Good luck in your search.

Geaux Tigers!

NJ Paladin

I would say that Louisiana State should be your safety. Personally, I’d rather be in Baton Rouge than Phoenix. Besides, LSU has a better football team and southern girls are amazing haha. LSU and ASU are both about the same academically.

Have you visited both? I’d much prefer the Valley to Baton Rouge, but it sounds like you feel the opposite.

Thanks for the advice, I think I’m leaning towards LSU now.
