Does anyone know if there is much of a difference in the room height/dimensions on the 3rd floor of Luter? My D at another school was on the top floor of her dorm and they had much shorter ceilings and somewhat smaller rooms. Just wondering if there is anything noticeably different on the 3rd floor than the others. Also ... what's the "Sundeck" that's shown on the floorplan layout for Luter on the Housing website?

No, the 3rd floor is like the others in terms of room sizes and ceiling heights. The main difference is that between the A and B wings there is a deck on the roof. The other floors have hallways and lounges in that area, but the 3rd floor is an outside area when you can sit, sunbathe, etc. It’s actually really nice. It does mean that you have to walk outside to get to the other wing though.

I always have to smile when I hear about Luter. It was named “Luter” in the 1980s. When I went to Wake in the '70s, it was called “New Dorm” - and had been for about a decade! :)

^^^ Right, and now there’s a new “New Dorm.” Same with the Mag Quad – at some point during D’s 4 years the name was changed, but I’m sure students will calling it Mag Quad for years and years.
