Lying where you actually live; on a college application/financial aid

Hi, let’s say my name is McNuggets. Now this is an important question for anyone who knows the answer and voicing their opinion on the subject at hand, 'cause this is important. Let’s say you live in CA. You live in another district, than the district you are going to school to. And your in your senior year. Same thing applies to financial aid. Do you lie on the application? Or you should just make things easier for yourself, and tell the truth and do the things that need’s to be done. Can anyone help? This was my mom’s idea, and I was a kid so I just didn’t know better. Anyone in the same position?

Even if it were ethical and legal to lie, it usually does not work. And so, why chance it?

When you finish you college application, there is a check box or a line that says something like:
“the information provided is, to the best of my knowledge, truthful and correct.”

It also says that you agree to be rescinded if the information is not correct on your application.

DO NOT LIE on your applications. You run the risk of getting caught. They may not catch you right away, but it does catch up to you.

Do not lie under any circumstances.

Are you saying that you’ve been deceitful with the school district where you have been educated, and they do not know your actual address? Further, that your mother’s tax information does not go to that address, but to your actual address, and you now wish to properly list your address, though it will be out of sync with your school records (which your counselor will have access to)?

Some districts have a rule wherein you can move to a differing district and maintain student status in the district in which you began high school. You’d have to check. There may even be a rule about seniors being allowed to stay at a school, though no other grade is granted the exception.

K-12? In my state out of district can be allowed, but you pay what it costs that town or district to educate a student.

Yes, K-12.
