M.i.t. Wtp

Geez I haven't posted in a while. I've been giving myself a major crash course in Physics this past week since my AP teacher is basically worthless. This month is going to be so hectic.. between AICE and AP tests I'm taking 13 tests. (Long, complicated story)

Before WTP I'm going gymming a lot, taking US History and Spanish 2 at the local college, and helping my calc teacher with summer school. And after comes Marching Band camp, and XC conditioning. woo.

the tutoring sessions sound fun :). But it sucks about no HP book parties. :(. Maybe we can host our own!

i'm in driver's ed before WTP, then a week free, then Intern at Girl Scout camp! So...what's the deal with these HP book parties? (I didn't actually read this entire thread through, so....)

I wouldn't call it a party, per say, more like a celebration of joy/ sadness that the final HP book is coming out. The bookstores open at midnight on the 21st to sell the books to the crowds of people dressed like wizards lined up outside the bookstores to get a copy of the book before the rest of the world reads it.

I’m going up to Boston the first week of June and I’m working for a MIT professor in his lab from then until WTP starts.

sounds like my school gets out waaaay later than all of you guys.
i'm actually flying on the night my school's break starts..
yeaaa.. my school's pretty sweet.

and after WTP, i'll be spending rest of my summer with my family... i dont see them during the school yr, so it should be pretty meaningful :)

ahh you lucky ducky flwr... how'd you manage that?

This professor and my dad were at grad school together at MIT

niiiice...what are you going to work on with him?

To tell the truth...I'm not exactly sure. I know he does ME so I'd assume it has something to do with that.

lol. which professor? cuz my brother is a ME minor at MIT and he'll be working there this summer...

wow.. its been a while since i've written here.... geez you guys have busy summers... hmm i was supposed to do Girls State but I gave it up to a girl who really wanted to go... spose it wasn't really my thing anyways... hmm soo my first ap test is tomorrow.. yeah i know, what am i doing online then?? and then i have the rest of mine next week... next friday i leave for DC to celebrate my aunts 50th bday.. my entire family's coming from all over the world so that should be fun... my sister and i are dancing there so that should be good... and afterwards just another two-ish weeks of school where i basically wont do anything cuz all my classes are AP or college level so we're basically done and have no finals... then summer!!! uhhh still not sure what i'm doing.. thinking about running a week long dance camp... and then of course WTP! anyways... i should go now.. good luck to everyone taking APs (which my guess is basically everyone!!!)... peace out!

btw.. if anyone's going/went to prom.. i expect to see pictures and details at WTP!!!!!!!!!!!

lol...i'm planning on going in a ponytail and no makeup...but sure! pics it is!

Hey yall.. How'd everybody do on the Calc test today??? I know we're not supposed to discuss it per se, but I really didnt think the AB test was bad at all. I hope everyone that took it did great!! :D

personally, the BC wasn't too, too bad. i messed up two of the essays, but taking into account all of my possible lost points, i think i should have gotten at least 60%....hopefully that's a 5 this year!

If anyone is still reading this in the midst of all their AP craziness, I wanted to wish everyone good luck in week two. I know you guys can do it!

ok so this is a kind of random post but hopefully someone finds it helpful. at wtp they allow you to sign up for an email address through MIT that you can use while you're there. what i just realized yesterday is that you "take up" that login name that you used over the summer. now that i am applying for my student email address at MIT, it claims that "cjreyda" is taken (the one i used over the summer and for most of my other login names) so i had to pick a different one.

so if you have any thoughts about attending MIT as a student and have a particular name that you want to use for your email... don't use it up over the summer! =[

Physics is tomorrow.. I probably should be studying, but I'm so burnt out. My eyes have been permanently pasted to the Princeton Review for the last, oh, 48 hours or so. I still can't get a hold on electrical fields/potential etc. It just hasn't clicked yet. Probably should be making it click, but instead I'm writing in here.

Anyway, now that this post has become a complete and total waste of time, I'm going back to fighting the highly repulsive electrical field around my Princeton Review book. (hehe)

Actually, as a response to cjreyda:

When you get your email address for WTP, somewhere in the few months after, it does go inactive, but does still exist - hence it is true that if you try to get the same one once you're a student, it says its already taken. However, if you email the computing people at MIT (IS&T, I think there's a special email address for accounts), they'll reactivate the one you had at WTP. I had the same problem, and I got it taken care of - sorry I couldn't have told you this before you picked something new :(

So yeah, if you are a student in WTP, don't be concerned about the email you pick - if you become a student at MIT, you can either keep it or get a new one.

sigh finally...physics is ooooover....i think i'll just go die now.....goodnight. X_X

Oh.. my.. god... I agree with you gerb. I took the 2004-2006 FR exams and got FIVES on all of them!!!! I did NOT get a five on this unless the curve is higher than high. Oh my god.. that was the absolute worst test I have ever taken in my enter life.
