Especially the last question. That was on some major physics steroids.

which one did you take? b, c or c electricity and magnetism?

lowers head just b.. my school doesn't even offer physics c. Next year I'm making special arrangements to have independent study physics c. basically I'll be sitting in my physics b teachers office teaching myself while he teachers honors physics.

ooo...fun...nothing to be ashamed of! lol...this year was the first year my school did physics c...and we still don't have c electricity and magnetsism. physics c isn't that bad tho...most of it's just normal honors physics, just with a little bit of derivatives and integrals thrown in...i know a girl who switched into the physics c class half way through the year from an honors class...she's doing absolutely fine....

hahaha yeah i switched up into ap physics c mechanics halfway through the year because i was bored in my honors physics class

heyyyy AP Physics me too! (my school doesn't offer C...no way, when our Physics B teacher is so horrible that he can't work out some problems that he assigns for hw...yup pretty embarrassing at times)

i didn't like the last free response question either- had no clue what i was doing but managed somehow to decently answer 3 out of the 6 parts (i was so lucky and excited that i realized that the formula/equation sheets they gave you gave Planck's constant in Js and eVs so even though I forgot the conversion i was able to figure it out!!) by just applying some formulas/looking at the units that you needed...but i totally did not get the magnetism/Strontium ions thing, apart from "what direction should the magnetic field be..."

but for me, it went overall pretty well (hopefully scraped a decent score??? no chance of a 5 though)- seeing as my class NEVER covered ANYTHING of modern physics, thermochem, gases, and only spent 2.5 weeks on electricity/magnetism...i had to basically cram and relearn the whole course in 2 weeks since our school "class" was basically useless (apart from doing the EXACT lab that was in the free response....yay!!!!)

gotta love the public school system

ohhh you are not alone tennisgirl, our physics class (which does not have C either) did not cover thermodynamics, modern/nuclear physics, and what's worse, the teacher expected us to just KNOW them from chemistry class (kids usually take chem then physics) which i SO DID NOT take before.
cramming all the thermo stuff to modern/nuclear physics in a week or so, not fun. i mean, how could teachers just leave out 20% of the test?
sigh gotta love public schools.
and i suppose we are doing light labs for rest of the five weeks (our school's out on june 22)....

i just can't wait till summer.

Yikes that sucks you guys. I guess my teacher wasn't that bad.. although when we would "learn" a new subject he would basically say. "Okay, next were doing _____, do problems 1-4 out of the book" We'd have to pry any useful info out of him. And tennis, we did that lab toooooo!! Did you guys manipulate the 1/f=1/si+1/so into a y=mx+b format to find the y intercept which was 1/f then took the reciprocal of that found value using the graph to get f??

yuuuuup, that's what i did too.

i'm hoping on full points on that question...i really need it to make up for screwing up the water out of the hole going into the cup one.

I forgot to take into account the atmospheric pressure in that one!! gahh.. it sucks.. im hoping to get points for using Bernoulli's equation though and plugging in some of the right stuff. Other than that I didn't think that question was too bad. I loved the strontium ion accelerating through the potential difference into a mag. field one. It reminded me of pinball! :)

3 more days of school left for me!! yayyyyy! And the only school exam I have to take is pottery.. which I need a 93 on to get an A for the semester. (Basically.. I have no artistic ability.. its just not there lol) Although... I do have 8 more fricking AICE exams.. which won't be all done with until June 13th. (Dam* the British)

what are AICE exams?

It's basically the equivalent to IB. It originated over at Cambridge in England where the people there decided to set a standard curriculum. It's not very well known in America.. but it is taught in many different countries throughout the world. After passing 6 of the exams in a 13 month period.. which are reminiscent of the AP exams.. (or "A" level exams if you're familiar with British curriculum).. you earn a "Cambridge Diploma" which apparently is the equivalent to an IB Diploma. I'll hopefully have it by the end of the summer. :)

Oh and I should mention that the reason I have so many is that each exam is broken into different days.. you don't just do it all in one fell swoop. Like the physics exam I'm taking is an hour for FR on Mon, an hour for MC on Wed, and two hours for an actual lab experiment on Thurs. I'm actually only taking tests for 5 different subjects.

We do have a physics C class. And our teacher is great! He's dances and sings Bohemian Rhapsody in class with us. And he’s also a good teacher. He helped me discover that I love physics. I have 1 exam left history. which is the nice thing about taking mostly AP classes because my school doesn't make you take a final if you've taken the AP. So, I only have to go back to school 1 more time for the rest of the year. woohoo! summer is here!

i'm jealous...at my school even if you take AP exams you still have to take a regular final and do all the final project/presentation requirements too

geez that sucks. On the bright side though.. we have just over a month until the WTP!!!

you guys.. this is completely unrelated to school or the wtp.. but I think I just met my future boyfriend at class tonight!! :D I'm psyched.

wow it's been a while since i've posted on this thing.. alwaysxvigilant--if you do end up with the future boyfriend, i want details and pix at wtp.. i'm a sucker for romance ;)... haha anyways.. glad AP tests are over.. i'm not as hardcore as all of you but i did have a tough couple weeks... hahah the day of my ap calc bc test, i crashed the right side mirror of my car into the garage.. yeah that went well.. luckily it wasn't too bad and my dad actually fixed it.. lol.. yeah i have no finals b/c most my classes are ap and i used an exam exemption to exempt my one non-ap class.. so i'm done with school in... 5 days basically.. i'm pumped.. also i'm going to go see pirates of the caribbean tmrw night.. should be fun... haha hmm yeah i'm officially obsessed with facebook now.. i finally got one and its like addicting.. i'll stop blabbing now.. and try to go do something productive...

hey if you got facebook make sure to join the WTP group with us

Okay so you guys.. I got the pictures of everyone in EECS from Mrs. Skier... anddddddddddddddddddd it'd be nice to know some first names at least so I can put posts to faces. My name is Meghan. And my picture is horrible because I'm not smiling and making a retarded face. But it's all good!
